GRADES 1–8 · READING + WRITING · DUAL-TEACHER

Most parents notice reading and writing six months before the SAT. Smart parents start in Grade 1.

A grade ahead in reading and writing, and the lead holds, year over year. By middle school, they're writing at the top of the class. By high school, college essays write themselves.

Five disciplines. One program. Not à la carte.

Reading

Understands what the author meant.

Writing

Writes with a voice that's theirs.

Language

Sentences that work. Every time.

Vocabulary

The word they didn't know yesterday.

Spelling

Every word, the right way.

Three Grade Bands · One Guarantee

Start where your child is.
End the year ahead.

Same curriculum spine, three entry points.

Grades 1–3 · Foundation
 • A reader who reaches for books
 • Paragraphs that hold one idea
 • Spelling that doesn't need autocorrect
Grades 4–6 · Acceleration
 • Competition-grade vocabulary
 • Essays the teacher reads aloud
 • Reading two grades ahead, measurably
Grades 7–8 · The Bridge
 • Argument that holds across pages
 • PSAT-verbal muscle, ready
 • Honors placement on day one
The 8-Year ELA Roadmap

From your child's first paragraph to Advanced Placement English Lang.

Four milestones. Eight years of compounding. What your child reads and writes this week shows up at the Grade 9 honors placement.

+7 Months

The first paragraph they're proud of.

+14 Months

Reading independently. Writing with voice.

Grade 8

A writing portfolio worth showing.

Grade 9

Honors-track ready on day 1.

The One Skill AI Can't Replace

AI can write the words. Only your child can decide what they're worth.

ELA at 98thPercentile grows the four things no model can: voice, judgement, leadership, and the emotional intelligence to use them.

A child reading and writing with judgement — the human skill AI can't originate.

The placement test maps every missing skill before class one

The Dual-Teacher Model · Unique to ELA

Your child stops bringing homework doubts home. Two teachers — one to teach, one to clear them.

A Subject-Matter Expert teaches the lesson. A Learning Expert runs a second session the same week, closing every doubt and skill gap before it widens. Revision happens in class, not at your table.

Two teachers — a Subject-Matter Expert and a Learning Expert — working with one student. Unique to the 98ThPercentile ELA program.
Reads Deeply · Argues in Writing

Your child stops summarising what they read. They start arguing with it — in writing.

Every class opens with a paragraph that has more than one right answer. Texts drawn from STAAR, Common Core, and real literature: the readings that reward reasoning over recall.

Your child stops summarising what they read. They start arguing with it — in writing. A 98ThPercentile ELA reading session on iPad — students compare interpretations of a STAAR-style passage.
Promotion at 90% Mastery

Your child advances a ELA grade only when they score 90%. Not when the calendar says so.

Monthly benchmark tests · Promotion issued on evidence, not attendance · If your child doesn't cross the gate in six months, every dollar back.

90%
The Gate 90% benchmark* Unlocks the next grade . Not before.
Four Students · One Path · Eyes On Your Child

Small enough for you. Large enough for the Protégé Effect.

Research is clear: students learn material more deeply when they teach it back. At 1:1, there is no peer to teach. At 20+, there is no floor to teach it in. 1:4 is the smallest group where the Protégé Effect actually fires — every child gets asked to explain, every class.

1:4 ratio · A placement-test-built path no other child shares · Your child masters each concept by teaching it back. A live online ELA class on iPad — Today's topic: Figurative Language. One teacher and four students on screen.
NATE Platform

Two classes a week is where ideas land. NATE is where they stick.

The five days between live classes are when ELA actually compounds or quietly falls behind. NATE catches it either way. 15 minutes of Adaptive Homework daily instant feedback, and a dashboard that flags a weakening pattern weeks before it would show up on a school report card.

Adaptive Placement Test.

A 40-minute entry test that adjusts every question to the last one answered. Scorecard delivered instantly the moment your child submits, placement at the right grade from day one.

Yash ELA · PARENT · CLASS WITH MS. PRABHLEEN

"My daughter started her class with Ms. Prabhleen, and we're really happy with the progress she's made. She enjoys the way lessons are taught and has started using bigger words in daily conversations. It's been great seeing her confidence grow. Thank you, 98ThPercentile."

Narinder P ELA · 1-YEAR PARENT · CLASS WITH PRABHLEEN MAM

"The 98thPercentile classes have always been wonderful. My child has always enjoyed them. The fact that they cover different areas of English — vocab, poetry and comprehension — is great. Prabhleen mam makes sure every child participates and enjoys. It's been around a year and she is my son's favourite teacher."

Anjali D ELA · STUDENT · IMPROVED IN SCHOOL ELA

"My teacher is very skilled in teaching and helps her students very well. She uses games to teach each topic and incorporates real-world examples throughout her teaching. It has been really engaging and interactive, and I now want to go to class more. I have improved a lot at ELA in school, and it has helped me a lot. I recommend 98ThPercentile."

Parent FAQ

The questions you're actually asking.

What is the placement test like?
A Language placement test that starts at your child's grade level and probes both directions, finding gaps below and confirming readiness above. It names exactly where your child stands, before class one.
"Promotion at 90% mastery", does this affect my child's school grade?
No. 90% mastery is the gate inside the 98thPercentile curriculum only, it controls when your child moves to the next ELA module with us, not when they move grades at school.
Is AI writing my child's essays for them?
No. Your child writes every word. NATE's AI grades against a rubric and annotates the essay line by line — where the argument is weak, where the sentence broke, how to rewrite. AI grades. Your child writes.
Can my child still prepare for Spelling Bee and other ELA competitions?
The curriculum builds the foundation — vocabulary, weekly spelling, etymology and roots, and structured writing. We don't run competition coaching inside the class, but before major events we host our own Spelling-Bee-style digital practice rounds so students can rehearse the format and build confidence.
What if my child needs to catch up before they can reach the 90% benchmark?
Need-based 1:1 catch-up is included. If the Learning Expert spots a gap, your child gets a 1:1 session to close it, no extra fee. The 90% is the gate; the 1:1 is the path.

Two weeks of live classes follow. No card required.
