Have you Ever Read a Comic Book?
Reading comics has many benefits. They are cute stories with major life lessons said in a subtle way. Children can learn a lot from comics. It inculcates reading habits, strengthens verbal skills, enhances vocabulary, promotes imaginative thinking, and morale values in a visually appealing manner.
Children enjoy reading comics because of the cute graphics and appealing narrative. Having an interesting storyboard is of utmost importance. Next comes weaving the story around the idea, writing dialogues and designing the look and characters.
These are very interesting but at the same time it needs expertise and guidance. 98thPercentiles Comix Summer Camp aims at teaching children from ages 6-12 in the US regarding creating a comic strip.
It is an online competition where, in a masterclass on June 9, 2024, children will be taught to build a story around their favorite idea, character or cartoon character. They will be taught storytelling and then designing the comic strip by comic experts.
Later the comics will be published online in social media and based on votes (likes) the winner will be decided. All participants will get certificates while the owner stands a chance to win rewards and scholarships worth $1500.
