Summer is almost around the corner and it’s time to help your child replenish their creative skills. And what better way to do this than registering your child for 98thPercentile’s COMIX Summer Camp. Comix is a fun blend of Storytelling & Designing.

Upon registering for the event, the participants would have access to video tutorials for:

  1. Storyboard: In this tutorial, the participants will learn the effective elements of storytelling. They will learn how to weave a story, character development, creating a climax, conflict resolution and so on. The end result would be a frame-by-frame storyboard.
  2. Designing: Once the participants have completed their storyboard, this tutorial will teach how to transition the storyboard into a comic strip using the design platform Canva.

SO, HOW DOES THE COMIX SUMMER CAMP WORK?

  • Step 1: Register your child for COMIX. Each participant will receive a UNIQUE ID via mail upon registration.
  • Step 2: Watch & Learn from COMIX Video Tutorials available upon registration.
  • Step 3: Create your own Comic Strip. You may create hand-drawn comic strips or use CANVA.
  • Step 4: You can submit your Comic Strip entries for the contest from June 1 to June 25, 2023. Kindly submit you Comic Strip here. Our experts will screen all entries and entries with any inappropriate or derogatory content.
  • Step 5: All approved comic strips would be posted within 48 hours of submission on 98thPercentile’s-Facebook & Instagram-Page.
  • Step 6: Pro Tip: Share your Comic Strip link from our Facebook and Instagram Page to all your Friends & Family Members to garner maximum likes.
  • Step 7: Once the voting phase ends, i.e., June 30, 2023 23:59 PM CST all the votes (ONLY LIKES) will be counted. No votes would be considered after the voting period ends.
  • Step 8: Winners for the COMIX Summer Camp would be announced on our Facebook and Instagram Page on July 3, 2023 at 12:00 PM CST.
  • Step 9: Top 3 Winners would be awarded with Gift Coupons & Scholarships. All participants are eligible for a participation certificate too. Kindly share proper contact details while registering for the contest. Our team will reach out to the winners based on the details shared by them.

The Comix Fact Files

  1. COMIX Summer Camp is a virtual comic-strip contest held for students in 3 categories: grades 1 & 2, grades 3 & 4, and grades 5 & 6. Grade levels for the competition are determined by current school grades.
  2. Students and parents must provide genuine school details so that we place them in appropriate categories.
  3. This contest is meant only for the residents of United States.
  4. Comix is a virtual contest that will take place entirely online.
  5. This competition has only one level, and no follow-up events will occur for this event, though similar challenges in various categories and subjects will be held monthly.
  6. Awards and scholarships
    • 1st place winners: $75 Amazon gift card along with a 12 weeks subscription to any of our programs.
    • 2nd place winners: $50 Amazon gift card along with 80% scholarship subscription for 12 weeks to any of our programs.
    • 3rd place winners: $25 Amazon gift card along with 50% scholarship subscription for 12 weeks to any of our programs.
    • Featured blog interviews about the 3 winners per category.
    • Participation certificates for all contestants.
  7. Upon registration, participants consent to give 98thPercentile the right to publish their comic strips on all social media platforms.
  1. The scholarships have to be availed within a maximum of 15 days i.e. on or before July 18, 2023.
  2. The scholarships are applicable for new subscriptions only and not for any renewals.
  3. If a student has already won more than 2 Awards & Scholarships in the last 2 years, they are not eligible for participating in the contest. If they still wish to participate, they would not be considered for awards & scholarships.
  4. This is a FREE ONLINE EVENT conducted by 98thPercentile.
  5. Following the competition, winners will be interviewed by our PR team and we admit the rights to publish the interviews across various channels associated with us.
  6. The contest team will remove comic strips that have derogatory or inappropriate content.
  7. Students will receive unique IDs on SMS and email as soon as they register for the contest. The mail/SMS must be kept with care, as it will be used as a userID for the contest.
  8. In case you do not see any communication post-registration, please check your spam folders.
  9. We will keep sharing important content through email, so please make sure you subscribe to our mailing list.
  10. In case you have registered for more than 1 child, you will receive separate unique IDs for them.
  11. This is a private contest, and we possess every right to disenroll an entry if our team finds it inappropriate.
